The Latrobe Distribution team stocks powder metal, tool steel, high speed steel and alloy steel products, and ships them all over the world.
Latrobe DuraTech' powder metal steels are now available for a wide range of tooling applications. We produce DuraTech high-performance alloys in round bar, plate, flat bar, sheet and hollow bar using state-of-the-art techniques to achieve fine grain size, small carbides and superior cleanliness. These properties give tools an optimal combination of wear resistance and toughness.
Alloyed with chromium, vanadium, molybdenum, tungsten and -- frequently -- with cobalt, our custmers use these steels widely in metal cutting and punching applications. Our customers for these products are manufacturers of drills, end mills, taps, broaches, milling cutters and gear-forming tools for the industrial and home workshop markets.
Almost 90 years of experience enable us to offer you one of the widest ranges of steel grades in the tool and die industry. With more than 300 grades at our disposal, we provide cost effectiveness and high performance for any application. Our AISI-designated utility grades have gained wide acceptance due to their uniformity and flexible properties. And our specialty grades can increase tool life and performance thanks to superior qualities for machining, heat treating and tool performance that far outweigh additional material costs.
Our vacuum melted or ESR melted steels are designed to operate in hostile environments. We manufacture selected nickel based and cobalt based alloy bar, wire and tubing for such highly specialized markets as exploration and service in oil and gas drilling; fasteners for aircraft, aerospace and marine use; and medical prostheses.
