Latrobe batch and continuous furnaces comply with customer specs and industry uniformity standards as stringent as AMS-2750. Our metallurgists design temperature profiles that produce alloys with optimum microstructures and hardnesses. And our continuing investment in facilities keeps this department at a world-class level of excellence.

Batch Furnaces

With more than 16 batch furnaces devoted to finished thermal treating, Latrobe maintains flexibility and diversity to meet every customer’s needs. We age precipitation hardening grades like MP-35N or 15-5, normalize and temper structural grades like 4340 or 300M and spheroidize anneal 52100 bearing steel.

Continuous Furnaces
When a high volume of similar materials requires exceptionally consistent processing, continuous furnace treating is the answer. We anneal our bearing, high speed and die steel bar and coil products in one of three atmosphere-controlled continuous furnaces.
